Project Description: The existing Cheek Hall computer lab on the first floor shall be reconfigured to allow for the construction of a new Computer Sciences computer lab, resulting in two separate computer labs. The entire area currently occupied by the open computer lab will be renovated to provide for the two labs plus support area. This project is to be completed during the summer of 2017.

Project Description: The University is renovating Ellis Hall to help meet the needs of the current music department. Although most changes will center on improving the music facility’s acoustic conditions, some spaces will be reconfigured and material finishes will be updated. On the exterior of the building all original windows and glass will be replaced with a new, energy efficient curtain wall and rain screen system. The roof, HVAC and other mechanical systems will be upgraded or replaced. Asbestos removal is taking place this summer, followed by the start of major renovation activities in August. Ellis Hall will be completely closed to the public until renovations are complete.

Project Description: Renovations began last fall in Glass Hall and are currently at full speed. Interior spaces will be renovated to provide a corporate look. The bathrooms will also receive a complete renovation. Fire sprinkler piping will be installed in most areas of the building. Existing floor tile will be removed in the corridors and replaced with carpet tile on the second, third, and fourth floors with epoxy terrazzo installed on the first floor. Corridor ceilings and lighting will be replaced with new. Corridor walls will be repainted. Additional work will continue east of Glass Hall with the construction of the 40,000 square foot addition. Glass Hall will be closed to the public and portions of JQH Parkway will be blocked off to accommodate this work.

Project Description: The university is renovating and adding on to the building which served as the West Plains Post Office. The Post Office's lease came to an end and they have moved to a new location. This facility will become a welcome center and admissions office for new students and the home of AACCESS, Honors, Tutoring and a Veterans Services/VIP Center. Much of the addition will provide an expanded book store and student union.

Project Description: This project replaces the existing failed steam boilers that are nearly 30 years old. The existing boilers, which are located in the basement, will be replaced with condensing style, hot water boilers and vented using the existing masonry chimney as a path for the new flue. The replacement of the existing hot water pumps will be included in the base bid, alternate #1 is a credit to retain the existing pumps.

Project Description: The University is replacing the existing elevator and constructing a new stair tower providing better service to the residence hall. The work on the new stair tower has begun and will continue into the fall semester until completed. Elevator work will begin in the spring of 2017. The impact of the work should be minimal as it is limited to the exterior of the building. The building is vacant for the summer months during this work.

Project Description: The University is interested in renovating the bathrooms in Shannon Tower of the Blair-Shannon House complex the summer of 2017.
