Sustainability

Sustainability is composed of three fundamental aspects: environmental responsibility, economic prosperity and social equity. Missouri State University upholds these key pieces through the development and implementation of construction policy and practices.

Both the University and the State are making great strides in green building construction and renovation. These efforts help the campus conserve energy, reduce the use of raw materials, and save money. Over time, more members of the campus community will live, work and learn in increasingly efficient buildings while enjoying a higher standard of indoor environmental quality.

Planning, Design and Construction has established the following Sustainability Mission Statement:

"Promote environmental stewardship through wise management of resources."

In an effort to uphold our mission we have developed specific sustainability guidelines for contractors to use throughout the construction process.
