Project Description: This project installs an additional chiller in chiller station number six (6) located adjacent to Hammons Student Center. The additional chiller will help ensure that the district chilled water system has adequate capacity to serve the Springfield Campus and will help ensure the reliability of the system. In order to locate the new chiller in chiller station number six (6), the aging boilers that currently serve Hammons Student Center will need to be removed from the building. This project will provide a new consolidated boiler plant located in the Great Southern Bank Arena. The new boiler plant will serve Hammons Student Center, as well as the Great Southern Bank Arena. The new boilers will be high-efficiency gas fired condensing boilers, increasing energy efficiency, and allowing for better control of the heating system for the adjoining buildings. Owner furnished equipment to include: pumps, condensing boilers, chiller, cooling tower, and various electrical substations, switches, and panels.
